My name is Siena Hilt, and I was born in California, United States. As you can probably tell from my name, my parents have always been in love with the city of Siena, and after traveling to Tuscany for many summers, they decided to take a leap of faith and move our family to a small medieval village outside of Siena.

Since I was young, I have always loved various forms of art. I began my artistic journey by studying painting and sculpture in high school. Afterward, I moved to Milan to pursue my passion for photography, and in 2020, I graduated from the European Institute of Design in this field. I loved Milan and am grateful for the opportunity I had to study something I was passionate about. However, much of the photography we focused on was related to fashion and still life, emphasizing the more commercial side of the field. When I graduated, I wasn't entirely sure what direction my photography career would take.

 

When we moved to Italy, my parents opened a tour company, Tuscany Tours, which now organizes tours in Italy, France, and Spain. While trying to determine my career path, I worked with them in organizing family vacations and had the pleasure of meeting wonderful families from different parts of the world.

During this time, I also started working part-time as an English tutor for children of various ages. This job provided me with the perfect opportunity to photograph them and their families. It was then that I discovered my passion for family photography. Briefly entering the lives of each unique family to tell a part of their story through photographs brings me deep joy and satisfaction.

It's amazing how different experiences, even if seemingly unrelated, can come together to help you find your path in the world. In my case, studying photography, working as a tutor for children, and planning family vacations for tourists led me to become a family and couple photographer in Tuscany.
